Supporting one interest group doesn’t mean you don’t care about other people or interest groups. It means you want to raise awareness about a group that faces oppression. Egalitarianism (like what you’re describing) assumes all people start on a level playing field. They don’t. We don’t need to fight for the rights of men or white people because they are already in power. We need to lift up oppressed groups if we truly want equality.
